J.Scala

Poet , Playwright and Actor Scala is also a writer and performer native to Scotia. They received a BFA in Theater Arts from Boston University. Their body of creative work has been widely varied: They have written several plays and a collection of poems. They have been an actor, a singer and a stage manager. They helped construct a geodesic dome on a bridge in the Boston seaport as part of a protest against inaction on the climate crisis. Their art seeks to engage with the extremities of the late capitalist present, from an anarchist perspective, through the exaggerated unreality of genre fiction. Their most recent project has been as a performer and editor for over 60 episodes of ‘Pods of the Multiverse’ a tabletop roleplaying game podcast.
