Michael is the Founder and Artistic Director of Creative Action Unlimited, a theater/film company dedicated to creating original productions about social issues. She is a playwright and director whose recent credits include Voices for Peace, The Climb, Whitewashed: the racism project, Taken In, Carry Your Heart, SRO: Single Room Occupancy, and Any Addict. She taught acting at the NYS Theatre Institute Theater Arts School and SummerStage programs, where she created original productions with high school students for six years. Michael has over 30 years of human services experience, including direct client services, management, community organizing, case management, counseling, and creative group work. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development, a Master's in Community Psychology and has completed extensive specialized training in creative action methods with individuals and groups. Michael has worked in the fields of addiction, domestic violence, grief support for crime victims, and designed and developed a successful peer support program for clients living with HIV and other chronic illnesses. She is known for her compassionate, practical and insightful guidance and her collaborative approach to creative projects.
